How to get in
In order to watch the stream, you must be part of our Discord community. This is free of charge. You can join it by clicking this link.
We’ll open up the livestream channel a few minutes before commencement. We’ll ping you in #announcements. You can join then join the livestream simply by clicking on the channel.
Where to watch the stream?
The livestream will be broadcast from within our Discord community. You’ll only need the Discord app and access to the Artist Lockdown Challenge community on Discord. Discord is available in your browser, on your desktop (Windows, Mac Linux) and as a mobile app (iOS and Android). Download Discord on your devices.
Need help with Discord? Just join our Discord community first, and request for assistance in one of the channels. We - or other community members - are happy to help you get onboard the community.
How to interact
We will also open up a second channel for text chat during the stream. Here you can ask questions, post comments, ideas, etc. We’ll address these questions throughout the stream. We encourage you to chime into the discussion!

Vincent and Cherie are exceptional community builders and have managed to make a living out of it for themselves. Whereas Vincent has hands-on experience with crowdfunding and marketing tabletop games, Cherie is widely considered to be one of the most knowledgeable thinkers and writers in the modern music business. We’ll discuss:
The ins and outs of building fanbases and communities
Monetizing your fan relationships
Crowdfunding best practices
What music can learn from physical and digital gaming
Who are the speakers again?
Vincent van Gils runs Grumpy Owl Games and participated in the Artist Lockdown Challenge. Grumpy Owl has run multiple successful crowdfunding campaigns, recently pulling in over EUR 50,000 on their Kickstarter for an expansion pack for their tabletop game ‘Untamed’.
Cherie Hu founded Water & Music, a newsletter and community that both of us are members of on Patreon together with nearly a thousand other paying members. She’s written for and spoken at many of the most notable music business publications and conferences.
